Convenient stay for friend's 60th birthday lunch/party. Efficiency of lunch service for the many groups participating in the carvery lunch. Value for money.
Could do with a facelift.
Hotel was set in beautifull surroundings also room had jacuzzi which was so relaxing.
Only problem I came across was the maids came knocking on door early morning not realising I was there just walked in so I had disturbed sleep.
It is so conveniant for our trips back to Coventry it has a lovely atmosphere my mum went to the Royal Court for xmas day dinner she said it was excellent Happy New Year to you all Steve & Jenny Harris
We stay there a lot I just wish the bedrooms were not so dated
Close to venue required the following day.
Limited choice in the restaurant. The staff were relunctant to serve drinks.
That it was within easy reach of Birmingham NEC without being in the city. Pleasant surroundings, neatly tucked away from the road.
The toilet paper was very cheap and nasty. Something you would expect in a public toilet not a hotel. Breakfast if paid for at the hotel, too expensive. Would book online next time!
receptionist (an Irish lad) was very helpful and extremely efficient. He was an excellent frnt man for the hotel.
There was nothing that enjoyed in the Hotel. The hotel was very old and smelt damp. The food and service in the resteraunt was disgusting. The building needed a lot of work on it. Ceiling were missing in some areas. The beds were hard and very uncomfortable
staff friendly and helpful
sections of hotel outdated, shabby and old. However, all completely functional and clean, so if you don't mind that, you'll be fine!
Rooms tired, like most Britannia run hotels, abrupt staff and poor communication regarding the fact our stay was at the same time as a very large function with disco. Not enjoyable. Poor complaints precedure.
hotel room beds & Shower decor of walls pictures etc dated and curtains old style too. bed linen lovely and beds & pillows really nice. I could see it had some form of face lift but not enough to compete with the likes of Whittlebury hall hotel for instance.
tired and dated lookinf hotel it mad me feel sad in the lobby area as its very dark due to the decor and the lack of furniture in the main lobby area made me feel like it is just surviving, and the furniture had to be sold or something. pool area etc not that great it put me off just looking through the glass, Food very poor and very expensive, the breakfast was always too cooked and not as fresh as I have had at other hotels. Tea should be fresh and served in pots on table when you want same with coffee as in the urn it is too old and stale tasting. Hotel could do with a re refurbishment and new menu and cheaper prices especially in this climate.
An ideal hotel to stay within easy access to Coventry city centre. A large comfortable hotel, the bedroom was spacious and well appointed.
The only item that was a disappointment was the very limited evening menu for the dining room, although there was a further selection for Bar meals or Room service
Checking out. This was honestly the only pleasure we got from our experience of this hotel.
We had originally booked a 2 night stay in this hotel but could only stay for 1. We where so glad we did not have to endure another. The radiator in the room did not work and it was freezing. We asked reception several times for a heater and it took 3 hours to get it. We did ask to change rooms but they refused. The room was grotty, shelves beside the bed where on a slope, bathroom sink hanging off, flooring sticking up, toilet roll holder broke, shower head holder broke the list goes on. I have pictures and will be complaining.
The fact the heating didn't work. The fact that our room was above where the beer barrels were changed at 1am. The fact that staff chatted and smoked outside our room at 5am.
The Carvery offers excellent value for money with attentive service. The breakfast staff were very cheerful and helpful.
Some of the guest rooms are a little tired and would benefit from a refurb.
Location, staff were friendly, even though we waited 10 mins for someone to come to the reception so we could check in.
1st room smelt badly of damp, so had to be changed to a different room, corridor was very dirty, rubbish everywhere, hotel needs re furbishment.
